Spanish winger Adama Troare has discussed his future with Wolves, amid long-term speculation that a switch to Elland Road could be on the cards for the attacker.

Traore, now 26, has been linked with a move to Leeds since the Whites gained promotion to the Premier League in 2020, having previously been cited as a ‘Bielsa-type player‘ who many believed would have been a suitable fit for the Leeds style of play.

Now, Jesse Marsch is experiencing similar speculation to his predecessor, with new reports circulating that Victor Orta and Leeds are still keen on bringing Traore to Elland Road [via TEAMTalk].

Speaking with Sky Sports this week, Traore stated that while he is out of contract with Wolves at the end of the 2022-23 season, he is not focused on finding a new club at the moment.

“I think everyone has been asking about my contract,” Traore said.

“For me, right now, it is important to help the team grow and after we’ll see what will happen.”

Traore stating that he wants to help Wolves could mean that he will stay put for now, even with reported interest from both Leeds and Tottenham. The 26 year old also stated that he likes ‘to prove people wrong‘ hinting that his time at Wolves may not come to an end just yet, despite indication that his days at Molineux are numbered.

Adama Traore left Barcelona in 2015 as a sought-after young talent. He often shows glimpses of the player many hoped he would be. While there have never really been any question about the quality of the Spanish winger’s physical attributes, the hard stats around his end product and consistency have never really lived up to expectations, scoring just 13 goals in 172 appearances at Wolves.

He returned to Barcelona on a loan move in January 2022, but to the surprise of many, he re-emerged as a Wolves player last summer, after the Spanish giants opted not to sign him on a permanent deal.

Do you think Adama Traore would be a good addition to the current Leeds team? Or has the ship sailed, and the right time would have been a couple of years ago? Let us know your thoughts!
