Following on from Saturday’s fantastic victory over Fulham that took Leeds United to the top of the table with a small points advantage in the race for the title, Tuesday evening’s clash had us back at Elland Road, welcoming Luton Town.
Unlike the last game, this was a more typical Leeds showing as we bossed possession but actually created little during the first half, we had also lost skipper Liam Cooper to injury to make things worse.
Second half was where our hope lay…and it wasn’t to be. The visitors opened the scoring five minutes after the restart, but thankfully that sparked us a little bit more to life and the chances started really coming.
Whilst it wasn’t enough to take the win, our onslaught did see us equalise, but really it should’ve been another three points.
Worst case, if West Bromwich Albion win their game in hand, we remain a point ahead of them, so advantage is still ours and there aren’t many games left now.
