Leeds United extended their lead at the top of the Championship table to four points following a 1-1 draw at Elland Road this evening.

The Whites had to share the spoils with Luton Town but in doing so, bolstered their promotion hopes slightly, building on from the weekend’s impressive 3-0 victory over Fulham.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side went behind first through a swift counter-attack, substitute Harry Cornick shrugged off Ben White to power a decent finish past Illan Meslier, but then the home side squared things up through Stuart Dallas.

The Northern Irishman fired home from close range after the magnificent and impactful Pablo Hernandez fed Gjanni Alioski through on the wing, he then drove a low cross into the box and the versatile midfielder tucked it past the visiting goalkeeper to level things up.

Should Ian Poveda get a start over Helder Costa?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Once again there were no fans in attendance in west Yorkshire but many appeared to watch the game from home and some were left disappointed by the showing from Helder Costa out wide.

Per SofaScore, the 26-year-old lost possession 14 times, won just two of nine duels, failed to record a single successful dribble and had two shots off target. It was a shocking night all round for the winger.

Some supporters blasted Costa for being a “waste of cash” whilst others picked up on the fact that he was anonymous throughout. There were even some questioning whether they really had to sign him permanently.

Here’s more of the reaction…
