With Leeds United drawing a line under recent defeats with the 1-1 draw with Brentford in midweek, earlier today we welcomed Bristol City to Elland Road looking to return to winning ways.
With the gap opening on West Bromwich Albion at the top of the Championship table, thankfully today we cut that back to just four points by taking the win and watching them draw, and we also reestablish a three point gap on Fulham and the Play-Off pack chasers.
Amongst all the recriminations and criticisms, our performances have been much the same as normal – decent chances, but no composure and end product, and in taking a 1-0 win as Luke Ayling found the net 16 minutes in, today was certainly no different with a whopping 21 chances over all, yet only six on target.
There’s also the issue of whether or not the visitors should’ve been awarded a penalty, but given our own track record with penalties being awarded, and seeing dwarf Lee Johnson have a meltdown over the event with his usual ‘it’s probably just the fear of Leeds anyway’ barb, I’ll consider that justice today.
