Lots of Leeds United fans have been reacting on social media, after The Athletics’ Phil Hay shared Marcelo Bielsa’s latest update on the fitness of midfielder Adam Forshaw.
The 28-year-old has played just 45 minutes of football since the end of August having sustained a hip injury, and has not featured at all since coming off at half-time during our Championship defeat at Charlton Athletic in September.
Forshaw had opened the campaign as one of Bielsa’s most favoured options, with the boss calling on the Liverpool-born midfielder to start each of our opening six league games of the term plus the second-half of our Carabao Cup Second Round encounter with Stoke City.
Bielsa has scarcely been able to offer clear updates on Forshaw’s fitness since losing the Everton product, noting earlier this month that he had no defined time scale for the midfielder’s return.
Do we need Forshaw back?
Yes, he'll offer depth
No, we're coping fine
The boss has provided a more positive update on the injury while speaking ahead of Saturday’s visit of Cardiff City to Elland Road, claiming Forshaw has been making progress in training and appears to be in better shape, though is wary of playing him at the weekend.
Forshaw is likely still set for further time on the sidelines as his recovery, hopefully, nears its end, and we will soon be able to see the £4.5million January 2018 signing back in action.
Here are some of the messages shared as Hay echoed Bielsa’s update…
Don’t think I’ll live to see Forshaw wear a Leeds shirt again.

Forshaw spent more time in the injury room than on the field sell him and bring someone else in

Can we confirm Forshaw is still alive? Tricky thing these muscle strains that mean you might miss the next game.

In other Leeds United news, the club are interested in signing a 185 mins-per-goal striker to boost our promotion push.
