“Robbed”, “Wow” – Loads of Leeds fans share same message after league update

Loads of Leeds United fans have been reacting on social media to the Championship’s Player of the Month nominees for November, by sharing their surprise at Kiko Casilla’s absence from the four-man shortlist.

The league announced on Thursday morning that Hull City’s Jarrod Bowen, Brentford’s Josh Dasilva, Nottingham Forest’s Brice Samba and our very own Jack Harrison were up for the monthly accolade, after impressing throughout November.

Bowen hit five goals in five games and penned one assist last month as the 22-year-old forward helped the Tigers climb into the top half of the table, including braces against Middlesbrough and Preston North End.

Dasilva, meanwhile, found the back of the net four times across his five second-tier appearances in a defensive midfield role, with the 21-year-old’s hat-trick and sole assist for November helping the Bees demolish Luton Town 7-0 on the final day of the month.

Harrison may not have been as prolific as the other outfield players put forward for the Player of the Month award, having only scored three times and assisted once in November, but the 23-year-old also registered at least two accurate long passes in each league appearance, plus four completed dribbles and three tackles against Middlesbrough, per WhoScored data.

Forest’s Samba is the only goalkeeper put forward for the EFL’s monthly accolade, after the 25-year-old kept two clean sheets – against Bristol City and QPR – as the City Ground natives won three, drew once and lost one of their league matches.

Who deserved the nomination more?

Harrison

Casilla

Lots of United fans were surprised not to see Casilla put forward for the award, as our one-time Spain international kept three clean sheets as we swept to a clean sweep of five wins during November.

Casilla prevented his net from rippling against QPR, Reading and Middlesbrough, and further shut outs in December against Huddersfield Town and Hull have seen the 33-year-old retain his status at the top of the second-tier’s clean sheet chart, now with a total of 12 in 21 games.
