With Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford yet to find the back of the net with us now a couple of games into our pre-season buildup, with some fans having heavy question marks over him given some of the chances that went begging last season, there has already been some disquiet over the summer.
The 25-year-old seems to be in good spirits though as he took to social media on Monday to thank fans for their support during our trip to Australia.
Thankyou to everyone who supported us out in Australia, itβs been a great experience ππ½
Happy to be back home and continue our work πͺπ½ #mot https://t.co/gKH2kVCguz

Reaction from the fans was certainly positive with plenty tipping him to hit the 20 goal mark this campaign as we have a second bite of the promotion cherry under manager Marcelo Bielsa, and there’s every reason for confidence with ten goals returned despite only making 18 starts given how injuries interrupted his campaign.
Opta Sports Pro had an interesting alternative argument in favour of Bamford, as they had him topping the table for ‘expected goals’ per ’90 minutes’ in the 2018/19 campaign with an xG of 0.8.
As a comparison, Tammy Abraham, on loan at Aston Villa for the season, was given 0.73 to take second place, with Kemar Roofe scoring 0.71 for third spot.
With so many chances created by the squad last year, we simply have to hope Bamford and Roofe can stay fit.
