“Leeds Are Committed To Going Up” – Leeds MD Expects Statement Signing To Make His Mark

|

Leeds United’s Managing Director Angus Kinnear covered a few topics as he spoke to fans in Perth the other day as we completed our mini tour to Australia, and he certainly made some bold claims about the capture of former Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Helder Costa.

“Absolute Demon” – Kinnear Confident Leeds Will Soon Find Agreement With Key Man

Having delivered confident news about agreeing a new contract for key player Kalvin Phillips, Kinnear also spoke about our new loan signing – with a fee already agreed to turn the deal permanent next summer.

Quoted by Leeds Live from the event, Kinnear was clear that he felt the 25-year-old would play a massive part in our promotion push given the form he’d shown previously in the Championship and not only did he call Costa a ‘special player’ he felt that he would easily be ‘one of the best’ players to grace the second tier this season.

“I think we’ve signed a really special player. I think he’s going to be one of the best players in the Championship next season, and I’d be very surprised if it’s not one of the biggest Championship signings. When people are asking whether Leeds are committed to going up and whether we’re investing, they just need to look at the signing of Costa and realise that’s the case.”

With Costa already getting off the mark this pre-season and beginning to show fans what he can do in our shirt, it’s certainly a bold signing and if it works out for us, we could be smiling by the end of the year.
