The rumour that just won’t go away

According to James Marshment via Twitter, Leeds United are once again mentioned in a rumour that will just not disappear.

Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker Adama Traore has again been linked with a move to Elland Road as the January transfer window is just around the corner. Leeds have an abundance of wide options at the club, so a move for Traore seems well off the mark, but the 26-year-old is never far away when the rumours of incomings to Elland Road are doing the rounds. The powerful winger spent the last season on loan at Barcelona, which never really went well for the Spaniard. It now seems he is nearing an exit at Wolves and with less than six months left on his contract with no sign of an extension, he could be looking for a new club in the near future.

With only two goals from 14 appearances this season, he hasn’t really set the Premier League on fire, but we all know how capable he is. He is very quick and strong with the ability to burst onto the counter-attack. His downfall has always been his end product, but if he could work and improve on that element of his game, he could be a good signing for Jesse Marsch. It is rumoured that the Whites are going to be very active in this window, so there may be a move for Traore after all.

James Marshment said, “Adama Traore once again being linked with Leeds as his Wolves deal enters its final six months and with Fabrizio Romano admitting the Whites would be a “very good move for him”.

This is not the first time the club and Adama Traore have been mentioned in the same sentence. It seems the two have been linked for the last few windows and although no concrete offers have been made, it was believed former boss Marcelo Bielsa was an admirer of the powerful winger. Only time will tell if Marsch feels the same way, and who knows what will happen come January. Marsch has stated the club will be active in the upcoming window, but surely a winger is the least of his worries?
