A cold and wet Tuesday evening saw Leeds United host Reading at Elland Road for our latest 2018/19 Championship clash.
Having drawn a line under the defeat to West Bromwich Albion by taking a 2-0 victory over Bristol City with the November international break ending, on paper at least, 20th place Reading should’ve been there for the taking and second spot in the table was up for grabs with back to back wins.
Manager Marcelo Bielsa saw his side play out their normal game, lots of possession, lots of chances, but very few actually on target but often maligned Stuart Dallas gave us the lead on the hour mark.
Reading did spurn a great effort late on as the referee awarded them a penalty, but hopefully quietening some doubters, Bailey Peacock-Farrell saved the effort low down to keep the clean sheet and take us to successive victories once again.
As ever, we can improve and we should improve when players return to victory but they always say successful sides sneak games, and we keep doing that – even if we are dominating them.
