Leeds United were tentatively linked with Queens Park Rangers influential midfield attacker Luke Freeman during the last January transfer window and it seems that speculation has now returned as manager Marcelo Bielsa prepared for a second bite of the Championship cherry in the season of 2019/20.
Earlier this week London Football News again recycled the story – as above – and suggested that our Argentine gaffer has instructed Victor Orta to make another attempt to secure the double capture of the 27-year-old and starlet teammate Ebere Eze.
Versatile midfielder Freeman ended the 2018/19 campaign with 48 appearances across all competitions, with a return of seven goals and six assists in the second tier campaign itself.
Fellow versatile attacking midfielder, 20-year-old Eze, made 38 starting appearances with eight more from the bench across all competitions, chipping in with four goals and three assists in the league campaign.
There’s nothing new to the reports, but with Freeman in particular plenty of Leeds fans appear to hope the speculation is true.
Would not mind at all if our first signing was done so early and it was Luke Freeman!! Was class against us and really shows our ambition to aim for automatic promotion. #lufc

I know we’re apparently going mostly for loans, but I do really hope we go to buy Luke Freeman. He looked absolutely excellent the few times I saw him last season and is the type of player we need #lufc
