Being the off-season for the Championship, there is a lot less football for fans to talk about on social media.
A few Leeds supporters, though, have taken the lull in on-pitch action to reminisce about significant moments in the club’s history, as we near the commencement of our centenary season.
One moment some United supporters have been sharing their thoughts on has been Eric Cantona’s debut for the Whites back in February 1992, when the forward came off the bench during an old First Division encounter at Boundary Park against Oldham, which we went on to lose 2-0.
The Marseille-born former France international had moved to Elland Road from Nimes Olympique earlier in the month in a deal worth £1.35million, according to TransferMarkt, and would go on to score 13 goals for the Whites across all competitions.
He’d be sure to set us back a lot more than that if we were to sign someone of his talents these days, and we, unfortunately, could not enjoy his goalscoring exploits for too long as he left West Yorkshire for Manchester United just nine months after joining the club.
His debut against Oldham back in 1992, though, was the moment some supporters have been sharing their thoughts on…
Total disaster couldn’t get in, even tried to buy 2 season tickets, then broke down on the M62 on our way back ????

I was there in that horrible open Oldham away end. More press and cameras than fans. He only came on for 10 minutes at the end and nearly scored. Instant hero.
