He hasn’t been given much opportunity to prove himself, in the past couple of season at the club since he arrived.

So hopefully this loan deal will allow him to do just that. I’m talking of course about Mateusz Bogusz, who last night sealed a loan deal away from Elland Road to sign on a season-long loan with Spanish side UD Logrones.

With competition for places likely to be very fierce competing against the likes of Mateusz Klich and Kalvin Phillips among others, it was the sensible choice for him to take a year away from the side to try and get some game time. Leeds fans think quite highly of the lad, and so do I if we’re being honest, so hopefully this year brings some good for him and he can continue pushing for a place when he comes back.

Is Mateusz Bogusz right to look for a loan move?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Otherwise you do begin to wonder when he is going to make that break into the first team. The central midfielders in the team aren’t exactly all getting on in age, with Klich and Pablo Hernandez being the only ones that are pushing over 30 years old at this point, so it’s not like there’s going to be a whole host of opportunities available for them in the future.

If he wants to try and make a career for himself at the club, then this season is going to be very crucial for him, especially if we are able to establish ourselves as a Premier League team and he wants to be a part of that.

With a contract that doesn’t run out until 2023, he isn’t exactly rushing against the clock, but like most things the sooner we can work out if we have a Premier League body on our hands, the better.

What about you? What do you make of this news about Bogusz?
