Keep aiming high.
That appeared to be the message that Ian Poveda wanted to give out following our excellent display against Manchester City at the weekend. It was a game that left many giving us plenty of praise for the way we played, and a result that shows that we are not going to be pushovers in this division.
Speaking after the game, Poveda talked about the start to the season that the club have had and what the club are hoping to achieve this season:
“We really gave our all, it was a good shift from the lads and for us there is no limit as to what we can achieve. Our start has been good, we’ll get our heads down over the international break, recover a bit and come back to a fresh start with a bang.”

Having been something of a bit-part player with the team in the latter half of last season following his arrival from Manchester City in January and only playing 69 minutes in the league so far this season, it will be interesting to see just how much of the campaign Poveda will be around to partake in.
But I think that it’s nice to hear the players talking about setting their limits high, because it shows that we don’t want to be just some other team in this division. We’ve seen before what promoted teams can do, and based on our start to the season, there’s no reason to think why we can’t go and do something similar or indeed better.
And even though we’re early in the season, the table makes you think that anything really is possible based on some of the performances and results of the other teams.
