Leeds Make Hull Pay Following FA Shambles – Match Stats

With news still ringing in the ears of Leeds United fans when it came to Friday evening’s not unexpected confirmation from the Football Association that goalkeeper Kiko Casilla had been banned for eight games following the charge of racism – there was still the small matter of today’s early Championship kick off against Hull City at the KCOM Stadium.

That 90 minutes was one thing manager Marcelo Bielsa didn’t have to worry about as with Luke Ayling setting us on our way five minutes into the tie, we cemented our control in the second half and saw Pablo Hernandez doubled our advantage shortly after the break. Inside of the final ten minutes of the match we made it comfortable as Tyler Roberts hit a brace, and with Illan Meslier keeping the clean sheet on his league debut – 4-0 was how it finished.

Four wins on the spin after our more recent wobble in results, a great confidence boost for Meslier – the day couldn’t have gone much better really. It was a great example of what can happen when our shots to shots on target ratio is much better though.
