Plenty of Leeds United fans have been reacting in delight to the news that Illan Meslier will be signed permanently from the French side Lorient.
According to The Athletic, the 20-year-old will be brought in from the Ligue 2 team for Β£5m after showing remarkable maturity and composure during Kiko Casilla’s absence during the 2019/20 campaign.
Since the Spaniard was suspended, Meslier has appeared in 10 Championship matches and has kept seven clean sheets and conceded just four goals, as per TransferMarkt.

The Elland Road faithful have warmed to Meslier since making the hop across the English Channel and were keen to see him stay on a long-term basis.
Unsurprisingly, supporters were delighted with the news and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that he was an “incredible bargain”, while another stated that he was an “absolute steal” for that price.
Orta gets a lot of stick, but credit has to be given when it’s due. Looks like an incredible bargain at 5m.
