Now that we’ve all had a chance to calm down after last night, let’s get into the minor details and the nitty-gritty.
Whilst Eddie Nketiah stole the headlines during and after the game for his game-winning goal, one player was making a few headlines of his own before the game for his surprise inclusion, although he was slightly overshadowed by more important news in the team selection.
Ezgjan Alioski has found getting game-time a little bit harder to come by this season. Coming off the bench in the first two games of the season and not coming on at all against Wigan on Saturday. When given his opportunity in the starting eleven last night though, he certainly made the most of it, putting up these impressive stats.
Thought that was a huge difference compared to Douglas (but no criticism to Douglas) in previous games.

I have to confess I prefer Alioski’s energy to Douglas’s occasional lapse in concentration and lack of pace

And yet the morons are still slagging him off. #lufc

I suppose if he keeps putting up numbers like this, he may give Marcelo Bielsa a few more headaches when it comes to team selection. Given how he’s seemingly played everywhere during his time at Elland Road, I’m sure he can fit in somewhere, that’s the beauty of being able to play multiple positions.
Although it seems there are some fans who aren’t entirely convinced by what they saw.
Alioski was horrendous. Worst player for Leeds.

I thought alioski looked hit and miss last night, same with Harrison

I like Alioski at left back, however, I think Douglas brings the best out of Harrison, Alioski didn’t pass to Harrison last night on so many occasions when he was the best option, Douglas is always looking for Harrison and really showed last night.
