Loads of Leeds United supporters have been going mad for Arsenal loanee Eddie Nketiah, after the youngster made a vital impact on proceedings against Brentford on Wednesday night.
The on-loan centre-forward had to wait until the second half before he could make his Elland Road debut, having been named on the bench for the second Championship game in a row after being an unused back-up in the 2-0 win at Wigan Athletic last weekend.
It did not take long for the 20-year-old to stamp his mark on the Bees affair, though, as Marcelo Bielsa turned to his dugout looking for a game-changer in the 77th minute, with Pablo Hernandez putting in a rare off-colour display, and just four minutes later, we were ahead.
A beautifully timed run through the middle left the England U20 international goal side of Julian Jeanvier as Mateusz Klich picked out Helder Costa on the wing, who fead the ball to the back post where 5 ft 9 Nketiah was waiting to tap home his first strike in the Championship.
His 81st-minute opener ensured Leeds would end the night top of the Championship table, ahead of Swansea City on goal difference, with the South Wales side the only outfit second-tier club sitting on ten points after the first four rounds of the campaign.
Nketiah also fashioned another effort on goal during his late cameo appearance, but was unable to beat David Raya Martin between the Bees’ sticks.
Here’s how these fans reacted to the on-loan sensation opening his Championship account…
What a hero mate. Looked so dangerous from the second you came on. We’re lucky to have you and if you can help us to get up you will be immortal in Leeds folklore #mot

This kid looks very comfortable in front of big crowds. We have not seen that at Leeds for a while. Soak up the atmosphere mate and little doubt your name will be etched into folklore in time.
