“Hard To Understand We Only Won By One Goal” – Bielsa Demands More From Leeds Despite Win

|

Leeds United welcomed Swansea City to Elland Road earlier this evening for our latest Championship clash.

The match already had an edge to it given the Daniel James saga during the January transfer window and manager Marcelo Bielsa did select the expected group, as Pablo Hernandez came in for Jack Clarke following his illness in the last match as he’s been given some precautionary time off.

It didn’t take long for Leeds to establish their advantage in the game as Pontus Jansson opened the scoring in the 20th minute and Jack Harrison doubled our advantage in the 34th minute. Although that was where our scoring ended, Swansea could only muster a late penalty effort from Oli McBurnie and we saw out the remainder of the game to take all three points.

With Norwich losing their tie this evening, we took a one point advantage back at the top of the table.

Speaking to the BBC following the game, Bielsa said of the tie.

“We deserved to win. It’s hard to understand that we only won by one goal because we dominated the game and had many chances. The players will have a four-day rest from Thursday until Sunday. We’ll take advantage of this period to recover well.”
