With mixed form in the last month for Leeds United, tonight’s Championship clash against Swansea City at Elland Road was an opportunity to go two unbeaten once again and the race for the top of the table remains open as Norwich City only have a one point advantage.
Swansea was going to be interesting though given the Daniel James saga across deadline day, and with Jack Clarke ruled out following his concerning illness and hospital trip in the last match, James did take to the pitch for them.
Leeds quickly had advantage as Pontus Jansson gave us the lead in the 20th minute, and on loan Jack Harrison quickly doubled our scoreline in the 34th minute. A late penalty from Oli McBurnie in the 87th minute set up a more tense end to the game, but we held out to go two unbeaten and pick up a three points that took us back to the top of the second tier table (a one point advantage) after Norwich were roundly beaten by Preston North End.
Onwards and upwards again now hopefully.
