Some Leeds United fans have been praising Helder Costa on social media after the Portuguese winger provided a ‘superb display’ against Hull City during Saturday’s 4-0 win at the KCOM Stadium.

Boss Marcelo Bielsa once again trusted the one-time international to open a Championship fixture as we visited Humberside, with Costa’s outing against the Tigers his 26th start and 36th appearance of the league season thus far.

Thankfully, the 26-year-old was finally able to repay Bielsa’s backing again, as he recorded his third assist of the second-tier campaign by creating Pablo Hernandez’s second-half strike to end what had been a ten-game run with no involvement in the scoring.

It was not only Costa’s assist that has fans talking, though, as supporters have been in awe of the 5 ft 10 ace as LUFC Data have noted that he also completed 76% of his passes (28/37), made 17 successful passes in the final third (70.8%) and made six successful actions in the Hull penalty area (100%).

Costa made four recoveries, too, along with directing two shots on target (50%) and creating two chances for teammates to score.

Is Costa justifying the club's obligation to buy?

Yes

No

No

Only Costa’s pass to Hernandez was marked as the winger creating a big chance to score by Sofa Score, who also note that the SL Benfica product took 54 touches, completed one of two long balls, attempted no crosses and was successful with just one of his seven attempted dribbles.

Here are some of the messages shared as fans reacted to Costa’s display on social media…

In other Leeds United news, a key Whites ace has been backed to make the step up to the Premier League this summer – even if it is without United.
