Bielsa States The Obvious After Leeds Drop Points Again & He’s Not Wrong

|

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa saw his first team squad get back to winning ways in last weekend’s Centenary celebration victory over Birmingham City and with a quick turnaround in the fixture list, earlier tonight we were back in action at Deepdale as we faced Preston North End.

It was a typical performance under manager Marcelo Bielsa but again, our inability to convert chances into true tests of an opposition goalkeeper came back to haunt us as Preston scored with their first registered effort on target and we only managed three all game long.

Second half substitute Eddie Nketiah did himself no harm though as he came on and grabbed the leveller to salvage a point but with league leaders West Bromwich Albion dropping points, we waste the opportunity to get back in top spot.

Speaking to the BBC following the full time whistle, our Argentine gaffer said of the game.

“Until they scored, the match was completely for us. After they scored, we multiplied our efforts to try to score. We could have won the match. After they scored, they had chances to score again, and they could have won the match. What is clear is that the opponent doesn’t need to command the match to create chances.”
