The Achilles Heel Is Alive & Kicking At Leeds But We Salvage A Point – Match Stats

|

With disappointment ahead of the October international break, Leeds United got back on track in last weekend’s clash with Birmingham City and we saw ourselves move back up into the automatic spots in the Championship table – tonight’s clash with Preston North End at Deepdale was an opportunity to build on that and hopefully, put more pressure on West Bromwich Albion in top spot.

It was again a typical game from Leeds under manager Marcelo Bielsa, first half we dominated possession and had numerous chances, but as the second half ticked by, despite being in double figures for efforts at goal – only one had tested their goalkeeper.

Typically, when Preston finally got a shot on target they opened the scoring and we set up a tense final 16 minutes as we looked to save a point.

Given all the calls for greater game time for Eddie Nketiah, he did himself no harm as he came on as a late substitute as with only a couple of minutes remaining in the game, he salvaged the point as he found the back of the net.

22 chances – 3 on target – our Achilles Heel is alive and well.
