Leeds United travel to Wolverhampton Wanderers for their Carabao Cup third-round clash tonight, and we are expecting a much changed Jesse Marsch side to the one that beat Bournemouth on Saturday.

Leeds United coach Jesse Marsch is expected to ring the changes from the weekend’s starting line-up in order to rotate his squad and keep his players fit for this weekend’s trip to London to face Tottenham Hotspur. This will be the first time Wolves and Leeds have met in the competition and the home side will be looking to inflict some revenge on the Whites as they came out winners in the Premier League opener 2-1 at Elland Road back in August.

Caretaker boss, Steve Davis’s side beat Preston North End 2-1 in the last round whilst Leeds beat Barnsley 3-1. Wolves have won the EFL Cup twice in 1974 and 1980, but have not made it past this round since 2011-12. Leeds have lifted this cup just once in the 1967-68 season, and have failed to progress past the third round since 2013-14.

Wolves defender Semedo will miss the tie through suspension after his red card against Brighton at the weekend, he joins Diego Costa who is serving his second of a three-match ban. The home side have a heavy injury list with Raul Jiminez, Sasa Kalajdzic, Pedro Neto, and Chiquinho all out with late fitness test for Matheus Nunes and Tote Gomes.

Leeds will again be without Patrick Bamford with the striker picking up a hip injury in training. They will also be without Adam Forshaw, Archie Gray, Luis Sinisterra and Stuart Dallas who are long-term injuries. Kristoffer Klaesson is expected to deputise for the rested Illan Meslier, with Willy Gnonto and Sam Greenwood pushing for starts after their terrific displays in the Bournemouth win.

Wolverhampton Wanderers possible starting lineup:
Sarkic, Jonny, Mosquera, Kilman, Ait-Nouri, B. Traore, Griffiths, Neves, A. Traore, Hwang, Guedes.

Leeds United possible starting lineup:
Klaesson, Ayling, Llorente, Cooper, Firpo, Adams, Klich, Summerville, Rodrigo, Gnonto, Greenwood.
