There will be those that feel it’s beginning to shape up as a bad week following news of Pontus Jansson’s rather cheap departure from Leeds United on Monday, but it wasn’t the only story doing the rounds as Kemar Roofe is being linked with Rangers.
On Sunday afternoon The Sun had claimed that former England midfielder Steven Gerrard had highlighted Roofe as the man to replace Alfredo Morelos if he moves on this summer, but the more bizarre part of the claim suggested that Roofe would be available for only £5million despite his goalscoring exploits last season.
Roofe to Glasgow Rangers definitely has legs. #lufc

Again the financial position of the club is referenced when it comes to Financial Fair Play compliance, but even if Roofe is available and a new deal goes unsigned, there’s no way we’d accept that little surely.
Having splashed out a reported £15million for Helder Costa given Jack Clarke’s sale and loan back, Jansson’s £5.5m fee appears to be more of a means to an end.

What a downgrade for Roofe. What is going on? Surely we're not that strapped, are we?

If Rangers are only gonna sign Roofe if they sell Morelos can’t we try and sort a swap deal? ????

Rangers want Roofe, but only if they lose Morelos for £10m, why not just swap and chuck a £2/3m alongside Roofe? Morelos ain’t no slouch for a 23 year old. 94 goals & 32 assists in 160 games.. #MOT #LUFC
