Leeds United could be back in the big time next season, and one supporter has suggested that the club should consider rebuilding Elland Road in the summer, to which these fans mostly agreed.
It has been a long time since Elland Road was last developed, and Marcelo Bielsa’s side have earned mass crowds this season, with only Aston Villa edging our fanbase through the door, according to TransferMarkt.
Their stats suggest we are averaging attendances of 32,676 per game, just 5,214 shy of max capacity, whereas the Birmingham-based outfit’s 34,573 average is 8,109 down on their capacity.
The suggestion, therefore, to develop Elland Road and up the maximum capacity makes a lot of sense, especially if the team can pull through on their promotion hopes to secure a return to the Premier League.
No matter the outcome of this season, too, the board have already announced season ticket prices will be frozen and that they will not be adding to the amount currently in circulation as there are more than 22,500 season ticket holders at present – or 59% of the capacity.
Naturally, the suggestion of a change such as stadium redevelopment earned a lot of responses on social media…
can’t see that happening until we have a few prem seasons under our belt tbh

I suggested removing boxes from south few months back and got shot down by a number of Leeds fans saying boxes bring more revenue to the club when in prem. They all new or worked with the LUFC trust and new everything apparently. Safe standing won’t increase either ????

Move away fans back into the cheese wedge too, far too many wasted seats there!

The only development they could do is add to the KOP like the same as East Stand and do the West Stand but that’s a massive operation…at least 12-18 months. Only thing they can do with the SS is the boxes. If they were to prioritise it has to be the West Stand and SS boxes

All sensible ideas. Relegation from the Prem really came at the wrong time for so many reasons, but the stadium is definitely encompassed in that – Elland Road was primed even 15 years ago for some large-scale renovation work.

Could they do what Liverpool did. Build the stand behind the old main stand and us the current tier as the bottom tier. No engineering expert just putting it out there.

Bulldoze the lot and the new lower tier would go up quickly, followed by upper tiers, roof and cheese room later. (and I am an engineering expert)

Prob need big sponsorship to pay for that.

If they’d just improve the phone signal I’d be happy

Yeah this can be done but you will never be able to fully expand the south. I agree the west needs sorting but nothing will happen to the stadium until the training ground is back in the city

I had a idea moving us down from the half way line, bulldozing Kop and extend the family stand, creating the room for the new south/north stand and build up to height of east but these ideas of stadium development could do when we’re a consistent top8 PL team
