Leeds United fans have been reacting on Twitter to Oli McBurnie’s plan to keep Daniel James at the Liberty Stadium by telling the striker to join as well.
The Yorkshire Evening Post had quoted a story published by Dai Sport where the 22-year-old had said: “I’ve told him to stay and now I’m going to lock him in a room and have a word with him.
“He’s been playing really well, and when you have big performances, you’re going to get attention.”
The quote emerged as the YEP understood Leeds would be making a formal approach for the Swans winger in the coming days, who are suggested to be holding out for between £3million and £5m.
The Whites were also said to be scouting McBurnie for a potential recall after United let the striker leave during his academy days, only to end their interest when Marcelo Bielsa was appointed as Paul Heckingbottom’s successor.
Some Leeds fans, though, think the 22-year-old should join his Swans teammate in moving to Elland Road…
We should take them both…
