Leeds United have received a £5million offer from Southampton for Jack Clarke, according to Football Insider.
The Saints have joined a growing list of clubs chasing the in-demand forward after Crystal Palace saw a £3million bid turned away by the Whites earlier in the window and Football Insider understands that all of the top Premier League sides are sending scouts to Elland Road to watch his progress.
Clarke has become one of Marcelo Bielsa’s top talents this season, with the 18-year-old recording 13 appearances in the Championship – the 15th most of any Leeds player after 28 games.
Eleven of the teenager’s outings may have come from the bench, yet Clarke has still managed to record two goals and two assists – the forward’s effort away to Aston Villa on December 23 started a triumphant comeback from 2-0 down to win 3-2.
Football Insider’s report does not reveal whether or not Southampton’s offer will be accepted, but they acknowledge that Leeds have no intentions of letting the academy graduate leave.
