22 y/o reveals crazy plans to keep teammate away from Leeds United’s clutches

Swansea City striker Oli McBurnie has revealed a crazy plan to keep Leeds United target Daniel James at the Liberty Stadium.

The Yorkshire Evening Post had reported that Marcelo Bielsa would be stepping up his efforts in the coming days to land James, as the Argentine seeks to improve his flanks after sealing a deal for goalkeeper Kiko Casilla.

James, himself, has even admitted to Wales Online that he would prefer his future sorted sooner rather than later.

But if the Whites have any plans on signing the 21-year-old, they will have to take into account his current Swans teammate, McBurnie, who has revealed he’s spoken to James about the potential transfer.

Speaking after Swansea’s 1-0 win at home to Sheffield United on Saturday, as quoted by Wales Online, the 22-year-old Scot noted: “I’ve told him to stay.

“I’m going to lock him in a room and have a word with him soon!

“He’s been playing really well and when you have big performances like his, you’re going to get attention.

“It’s down to the club to do what they need to do, but we want to keep our youngest and best players. DJ is one of the players we want to build our team around.
