Leeds United are still in the hunt to sign Daniel James before Thursday’s transfer deadline hits, but fans are losing faith despite the Yorkshire Evening Post’s Phil Hay’s latest update.
Hay shared the news on Tuesday night that the Whites are still locked in negotiations with Swansea over the possible transfer of their star winger.
United have targeted James throughout the January window as Marcelo Bielsa looks to add depth and quality on the wings, having lost Samuel Saiz with the Spaniard joining Getafe on loan.
But, with the Swans reportedly set to sell striker Wilfried Bony, the Welsh outfit would not need to sanction James’ sale as well as they look to cut their wage bill.
Regardless, though, Leeds are said to be hopeful of a deal being struck, and will offer Graham Potter’s club a financially beneficial package tied with performance related bonuses.
The prolonged nature of the negotiations, however, is proving too much for some of the Elland Road faithful…
Hmm-smells a bit like ‘sorry, we tried to sign someone’. Funny how when we’re selling it happens overnight but takes 6 months to sign anyone. Hope I’m wrong but I’m thinking we aren’t going to sign anybody.

How Leeds would it be we don’t strengthen, top of the league, no Saiz replacement, 17-year-old from Poland coming in… Bamford and brown ‘like two new signings’ Bielsa wants this lad GO GET HIM LEEDS

Cos my opinion these 2 would make us lot better and stronger if Swansea are taking the piss. Both these loans with view to perm.

Ian Hearte has tweeted that Clarke doesn’t want to leave. We should walk away from James and turn our efforts elsewhere, otherwise we’ll get no one.

We can forget the no10 Josh unless you include Bogusz! Any new signing is going to take 2-3 weeks to get up to speed with our style and play. Izzy will be fit by then and Tyler even sharper

How are we not interested in another striker to boost the squad? There are plenty available. We have 1, imagine if roofe got a serious injury on saturday
