Tuesday evening’s clash between Leeds United and Preston North End at Elland Road gave fans plenty to celebrate.

Our unbeaten run in 2018/19 continues and we have now opened up a three-point gap at the top of the English second tier and whilst there were plenty of positives to come from the game, the clear stand out has to be youngster Tyler Roberts.

Having come into the club from West Bromwich Albion last January, injury hit and we’ve had to be patient with the lad. The 19-year-old has made four starts for manager Marcelo Bielsa so far this season as he gets his Leeds career up and running, and following his impressive showing for Wales, last night he turned promise into productivity and opened his club account with a brace to help us to a 3-0 victory. Liam Cooper had opened the scoring before he took charge.

Given a rating of 8.93 by statistics website WhoScored it was a thoroughly good evening for the lad and with Kemar Roofe and Patrick Bamford out with injury, he’s beginning to take full opportunity of the chance he now has to make life difficult for them when they return to fitness.

That kind of competition will delight Bielsa and the fans alike.
