Three players that could improve Leeds United

|

Now before anyone jumps in, this is my own opinion, an opinion of a Leeds United fan. An opinion on who I think Leeds could sign and who could improve the squad. We all share a common interest, we all want the team to do well and the club to progress. We all have an opinion on managers, players, tactics and everything in between.

I have selected three players I think could fit in well at Leeds, these are not players that I am saying we will sign, these are my own thoughts on who I think could do a good job for the whites. Its no real mystery that Leeds are in the market for new additions. I have looked at the positions we are light on and put together a shortlist of possible additions.

Goalkeeper:

With only Kristoffer Klaesson as back up to Illan Meslier, I think we need to bring in a well rounded, experienced shot stopper to provide much needed cover and to offer guidance to the two young goalkeepers already at the club.

Ben Foster would be a perfect fit for Leeds.  He is very experienced at both club and international levels and would provide a wealth of experience to Meslier and aid his future development.

Attacking Midfielder:

With Leeds not really having an attacking midfielder since Pablo Hernandez, they have missed that little bit of something, someone to unlock a defence, someone with the ability to open up space for the forwards with a pass or piece of trickery.

John Swift would certainly add that little bit of something to provide the link from midfield to attack.  with 11 goals and 13 assists from 38 games last season for Reading. He was certainly the stand out player for a side that struggled, finishing fourth from bottom.  He looks like a player who will be in the Premier League next season, could Leeds tempt him to switch to Elland Road?

Striker: Now this is a tough one, with Patrick Bamford, Joe Gelhardt, Sam Greenwood, Tyler Roberts and Rodrigo all featuring this season, it looks like Leeds have plenty of options up front.  Many people have the opinion that Rodrigo hasn’t shown enough to live up to his hefty price tag, Roberts may not be Premier League quality and Greenwood not fully ready to lead the line.

Ben Brereton Diaz would be an ideal forward for Leeds, with 22 goals and 3 assists from 37 games last season he was the player who shone for Blackburn.  He has the ability to pop up with a goal from anywhere in and around the box and I think he could easily hit double figures in a team that creates so many chances.

What do Leeds fans think of these selections? could they do a job for Leeds United?
