The Premier League took a significant step closer to returning to action today after the clubs unanimously agreed that contact training could resume.
Whilst the players have been back at their respective clubs over the past week, they had to follow strict rules which prevented them from tackling, among other things. However, the update today, which was confirmed by the BBC, means we are getting closer to a return to playing again.
Will Leeds United be playing in the Premier League next season?
Yes
No
Obviously, that has a big impact on Leeds United, who currently sit top of the Championship. Even though this was a top-flight vote, it’s likely that the Football League will follow suit.
Premier League agrees unanimously to resume contact training. "Squads are now able to train as a group and engage in tackling while minimising any unnecessary close contact." Another step forward.

Plus, Leeds want to finish the season on the pitch as they boast a seven point lead over third-placed Fulham, with just nine games to play. And, Norwich City have claimed in the past that they will not be happy with relegation from the Premier League unless they play every game and the same happens in the second tier, so it appears to be in the best interest of everyone to get back playing.
Therefore, this news went down well with Leeds fans and here we look at some of their comments…
Surely if it’s okay for the prem then it’s okay for championship

That’s good.
However if there is an increase in postive tests in the next 14 days, it could turn everything on it’s head.
Let’s hope there’s no more positives— Andy Leatham (@leedswhiterose) May 27, 2020
