Peter Sweeney reflects on the disappointment of losing to Doncaster in the play-off final as he discusses his future at Elland Road.

‘We’re all gutted at the minute and that’s the only way to describe it. Losing in the play-off final on Sunday will hurt for a while yet but it’s just one of those things. The important thing is to get over it and go up automatically next year.

‘If we have the same kind of season next year then we will go straight up. We just need to carry on the way we are. If we can win the same number of points as we did this season without the deduction we should finish in the top two, if not as champions.

‘I’m still happy at Leeds though, it’s not the kind of club you walk away from and I’m delighted to be a Leeds player. I’ve spoken to the manager about next season and he’s told me he wants me at the club. I have two years left on my contract and I’d like to see those out fighting for my place at Elland Road and helping Leeds into the Championship.’
