Dave Lucas and Tomi Ameobi have been offered new, one-year deals at Leeds United, as Alan Thompson and Darren Kenton depart.

First, the “in” crowd:

Youngster Ameobi made his first team debut this season against eventual FA Cup winners Portsmouth, however finished up at Scunthorpe United on loan where he made 9 appearences from the bench (wonder why they took him?)

Big Dave Lucas managed 6 appearances as backup to the tremendous Casper Ankergren and will undoubtedly try to push the Danish keeper for the #1 spot over the close season.

Thompson and Kenton are leaving Elland Road for two different reasons. One player is retiring, one was rubbish. 29-year old Kenton joined the club in January from Leicester City and made 16 appearances during his loan, and permanent spells at the club. Captain Thompson, as reported earlier by Vital Leeds United, has announced his retirement from the playing side of football, but may re-emerge somewhere in the industry following a short break.
