“Take Us Up” “You Love To See It” – These Leeds Fans React To Massive Club Announcement

|

Earlier this evening, Leeds United confirmed the fantastic news that key and influential midfielder Pablo Hernandez had now signed a new contract extension at Elland Road.

The experienced 34-year-old playmaker has signed a two year extension to his deal, keeping him with us until the summer of 2022 and already has two goals in ten appearances to his name in 2019/20.

Having impressed initially on a loan spell before we turned the deal permanent in the summer of 2017, the Spaniard now has 29 goals to his name in 132 appearances and countless more assists, especially following the additional improvement we saw from him last season as we almost gained promotion under manager Marcelo Bielsa.

With Hernandez now back to full fitness following on from his injury, fans will be hoping he quickly finds his form again now as we continue to battle to go one step further this year.

Speaking to the Official Site after penning his deal, he explained.

“It’s a happy day for me and my family today. I am staying here because I want to stay here and the club want me to stay here, so it is perfect for me. Signing this new contract with the club is an honour for me and now I will try to continue with the same work and push to help the club get back to the Premier League. This is a big club, not just in England, but around the world and this club deserves to play in the Premier League. We have amazing fans and for me to play for this club and for these fans is both an honour and an amazing feeling for me and I am very happy to continue playing here. I think the last season was the most complete season for me with 12 goals and 12 assists, but we lost the chance to go to the Premier League and I would change this for the team to be in the Premier League, but I was happy with my personal performance last season. We want to improve this year and achieve our target of the Premier League and I think we are going in the right way and I am 100 per cent sure and convinced that this is the year this club will get back to the Premier League.”
