Roundup: Drameh, Cresswell, Monteiro and more

|

Earlier today, we discussed the speculation around a potential loan move for 20 year old striker Joe Gelhardt seemingly being imminent, as well as developments around a bid for Angers midfielder Azzedine Ounahi earlier in the week. Now, Vital Leeds will take a look at some of the other news and rumours doing the rounds about potential ins and outs during this transfer window.

Cody Drameh’s exit rumours

21 year old full back Cody Drameh has been linked with a move away from Elland Road during the January transfer window. Despite being highly rated, first team game time has been hard to come by for Drameh. According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Premier League side Newcastle are keeping an eye on the young right back, as its a position they’ve identified as a target area [via TeamTalk].

Charlie Cresswell to leave on a permanent deal?

The young Leeds defender has been on loan at Millwall since the beginning of the season, but reports have emerged that Leeds may end his loan deal and look at letting Cresswell leave on a permanent basis [via The Athletic].

Leeds reporter Phil Hay discussed in his latest piece with The Athletic that there is interest from Championship clubs in a bid for the 20 year old centre back:

“Leeds are discussing whether Cresswell might be sold in this window. At least one prominent Championship club want Cresswell permanently and the option is not off the table.”

Bid for young defender Diogo Monteiro

Earlier this week, we discussed emerging news that Leeds were keen on landing the signature of 17 year old centre back Diogo Monteiro from Swiss Super League side Servette. Phil Hay in The Athletic outlines that Monteiro turns 18 in roughly a week’s time, which would mean Leeds are in a position to then launch their bid for the young defender. He would be brought in to link up with the academy setup at Thorp Arch initially. This is one to keep an eye on over the next week.
