Legend to appear at Elland Road

|

Former Leeds United player and beloved football pundit Chris Kamara is set to make an appearance at his old stomping grounds Elland Road this weekend.

Confirmed earlier today via his Twitter account, Chris Kamara detailed that he has been invited by Leeds United to Elland Road for the Whites’ Premier League clash with Brentford this Sunday (2pm).

Kamara played an important role in the 1989-90 Leeds side that saw the club gain promotion from the second tier of English football back to the top flight. While he is remembered at Leeds for his part in that team, he is beloved by football fans around the world for his cheerful and enthusiastic on-air personality.

Speaking last year on The Diary of a CEO podcast, Chris Kamara opened up about his heartbreaking battle with apraxia – a speech condition which has forced him to step back from broadcasting duties.

However, the legend that is Chris Kamara has not let his condition slow him down, as he has tremendously used his platform to raise awareness and garner support for those battling with speech conditions [via The Metro].

Kamara, 65, will be bringing his young grandson along with him to Elland Road for his first game this weekend, and states he wants to express his thanks to fans for support.

We have no doubt Leeds and Brentford fans will be the ones wanting to give thanks to Chris Kamara, for all the amazing moments over the years. There’s sure to be a wonderful reception from all sides of the ground, and fingers crossed Kammy brings some good fortune for Leeds along with him!
