Latest injury news ahead of Brentford fixture

|

Leeds United coach Jesse Marsch has provided an injury update ahead of the Whites’ fixture against Brentford on Sunday.

As per LeedsLive, Marsch held his press conference and as usual, gave the latest team news and injury updates. Maximilian Wober was forced off through injury in the Cardiff game having played just under an hour on his full debut for the club. The Austrian defender clashed with a Cardiff player and seemed to have a thigh problem. He joins club captain Liam Cooper and Robin Koch as the defenders suffering minor knocks.

Luis Sinisterra was back in the squad and came on as a late substitute in the Cardiff game, but Stuart Dallas, Adam Forshaw and Archie Gray are still out injured along with Crysencio Summerville who suffered an ankle injury during the first tie in Wales. New signing Georginio Rutter has trained well and is looking likely to be included in the squad.

Marsch said, “Ok, I’ll start with the injury report. Stuart [Dallas], Archie [Gray] and Cree [Crysencio Summerville]. Archie has made good progress, he was out on the pitch today and Cree is probably on the pitch next week as well.”

“Georgi [Rutter] has looked good in training so I think he’ll be in the squad now that we’ve got a little numbers situation so we’ll have to see where we’re at with different things but I think he’ll be ready.”

He added, “We’re inching to being at full capacity. Oh, sorry, I didn’t mention Adam [Forshaw]. That’s another one [missing], but Max will be ready – he trained today.”

Leeds will be hoping for revenge on Thomas Frank’s side after the Bees were rampant in the reverse fixture, eventually running out 5-2 winners. The Whites will be hoping to get their first win in the league since early November and the three points could see Jesse Marsch’s side go five points clear of the relegation zone with a game in hand on most of the teams in the bottom half.

Leeds vs Brentford is on Sunday the 22nd of January with a 2 pm kick-off.
