According to reports from Tuttosport [via MOTLeedsNews], previous Elland Road transfer target Ola Aina looks set to depart Torino during the January transfer window.

Aina, 26, is said to be on the way out of the Serie A side.

Despite some promising performances from Aina, injuries and inconsistency are said to be the driving factors leading Torino towards selling the right back, with the Italian side setting a reported valuation of £7m for the defender.

Aina was born in the UK, but has 17 caps for the Nigeria international team. He made three Premier League appearances at Chelsea in the 2016-17 season before being sent out on loan, and eventually moving to Torino in 2019.

Torino currently sit 10th in Serie A, but Aina has been out of action since October through injury.

Right back is not exactly the first position that Leeds need to recruit talent, considering Luke Ayling and Rasmus Kristensen are both at the club and both want to be part of Jesse Marsch’s starting lineup. However, with reports that third choice right back Cody Drameh wishes to leave the Whites, its not impossible that Leeds look at options to replace the 21 year old should he depart Elland Road.

Leeds fans will be hoping that the club’s main focus in the current transfer window is to sign someone who can bolster the team’s attacking and goalscoring capabilities, with rumours of a big move for a striker on the cards.
