Report: Leeds have approach accepted for midfielder

|

GAIS have confirmed that teenage midfielder Nuha Jatta has joined Leeds United on trial, according to the club’s official website.

The Swedish Superettan outfit have allowed Jatta to travel to Thorp Arch for a one-week trial and to train with our Under 23s, after receiving an official request from the Championship outfit.

Jatta’s weeklong test commenced on Tuesday, December 7 and will run until Sunday 22, ahead of a potential permanent transfer should he impress the coaching staff at Thorp Arch.

The 16-year-old rising star has been making a name for himself in his native country and became a record-setter earlier this year, when he became the first 2003-born player to feature in the Swedish top-flight.

He has also represented his country at U16 level as part of Sweden’s squad attempting to qualify for the UEFA European U17 Championship, with one start in three outings between September and October.

Jatta has made one start in four Superettan outings for GAIS’ first-team this season, the last of which came in September as the Mackerels were beaten 1-0 on the road to IK Frej Taeby.
