Leeds Word On The Tweet

“That’d be insane”, “Radrizzani doesn’t spend” – Loads of Leeds fans react to crazy transfer rumour

Loads of Leeds United fans have been reacting on social media to a crazy transfer rumour linking the club with RB Salzburg wonderkid Erling Braut Haaland.

Elland Road has been muted as the ‘most likely’ landing spot for the two-time Norway international by Bleacher Report, who claim we could make advances to sign the striker in the summer if he were to chase a move to the Premier League.

The teenager is widely regarded as one of the hottest prospects in football right now, having taken Europe by storm with 28 goals in 22 games this season, including eight in six Champions League appearances.

Only Bayern Munich’s prolific hitman Robert Lewandowski (10) ended the Group Stage with more goals than Haaland, who was only playing in Norway’s top-flight until his transfer to Salzburg in January.

It wouldn't be possible, would it?

No chance

Worth a try

While Bleacher Report tip Elland Road as the ‘most likely’ destination for Haaland, Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig have all been credited with an interest of late.

Leipzig Sporting Director Markus Krosche has even confirmed to German publication Kicker (via Mirror) that his Bundesliga outfit have made an offer to the striker, having told Haaland what his role would be under manager Julian Nagelsmann, who also met with the Leeds-born 19-year-old.

Haaland also visited BVB’s facilities alongside agent Mino Raiola recently, as they took a private jet to meet with clubs from around Europe ahead of a potential January move with the striker’s €20million (£16.9m) release clause only valid in the upcoming winter market.

Beyond that, a deal for Haaland could cost more than £85m, with Salzburg keen to recoup a sizable fee for the young sensation they signed for just £4.5m.

Here are some of the messages shared as fans discussed whether a move for Haaland would be at all possible, following the recent speculation…

In other Leeds United news, a prominent pundit has lauded a £60k-p/w man as an ideal January signing for the Whites to chase.
