|

With Leeds United fans continuing to reflect on a 2018/19 Championship campaign that promised so much before we tasted heartbreak against Derby County in the Play-Off Semi-Finals, plenty maintain there is reason for good optimism ahead of the coming 2019/20 season.

Plenty is yet to be decided with some worry about the future of manager Marcelo Bielsa, but even then we’ve a highly talented pack of youngsters coming through and they will only be better given the experiences of this year.

With plenty of speculation on the transfer rumour mill, we will undoubtedly be looking to tweak the first team squad to give us a far better chance of success next year and with fans again torn on Gaetano Berardi given his rush of blood, reports from abroad have suggested that Massimo Cellino could offer him a route out this summer.

Outlet Brescia Oggi made the link and suggested that Brescia had shortlisted the 30-year-old as a target.

The Cellino link is obvious as it was during his time that we brought Berardi in to begin with from Sampdoria back in 2014, and he obviously came through Brescia’s ranks in the first place – but the report does seem to really hinge on Cellino and a return home more than anything more concrete than that.

Worth keeping an eye on though.
