Pundit Believes Leeds Star Is Too Good For The Championship & Most Will Agree

|

Former England international striker and now pundit, Darren Bent, has been talking up the deal that Leeds United struck with Wolverhampton Wanderers for winger Helder Costa recently.

The 25-year-old Portuguese international may not have quite taken his moment to shine in the Premier League as he stepped up to that level in 2018/19 following their promotion, but his quality is not in doubt in the second tier and Bent is simply the latest to feel that he’ll once again rip up the division once he fully settles into life at Elland Road.

His substitute showings for us so far more than suggest he’s getting up to speed with what manager Marcelo Bielsa wants from him and more regular starting spots in the first XI will only be a matter of time.

Speaking to Football Insider this week, Bent’s praise for the player was obvious.

“Yeah, he is, he’s brilliant. Right after they got him, I thought to myself: ‘What a signing, how have they managed to pull that off? He’s so good, he probably should be playing in the Premier League, but he’s moved back to the Championship to play football. With Jack Harrison, it gives Bielsa a headache but a good headache.”

There will be few who disagree with that assessment and as the aim this year is to go one better than last season as secure promotion, hopefully, he’ll more than play his part in getting us there.
