So close, yet so far.
Despite their best efforts, Leeds were knocked out of the League Cup last night on penalties last night against Stoke City.
With time ticking down in the first half, the visitors took the lead when Danny Batth headed in from a corner, despite the best efforts of Kiko Casilla on the line to keep it out.
Telling me our back four with an average height of 4ft11 conceded from a header. I'm shocked and disgusted

Losing on purpose to focus on the league. Fair play

That lead was doubled on the stroke of half-time as Sam Vokes slid across the six-yard box to get there ahead of Casilla and leave the home side with it all to do in the second half.
No actual CB's playing and this happens, not surprised at all we are getting beat..

As much as I would like to see a trophy… this won’t be it I guess…

It took them a while, but they managed to get back into the game with just over twenty minutes to go, and it was that man again Eddie Nkeitah, but there was a whole lot of luck involved. Jack Butland’s clearance hit a Stoke defender and the ball luckily rebounded to the Arsenal loanee to race past Butland and tap into an empty net.
That'll do me, as long as he keeps scoring I'm happy

Ten minutes later and the sides were level, and it was another of the new men who got the goal for the home side in the form of Helder Costa. Leif Davis’ ball from the left flank managed to evade everyone in the box, leaving an unmarked Costa to head in from close range and send the game to penalties.
Comeback Kings?

With both sides scoring the first nine penalties, it was all down to Jack Harrison to keep United in the tie, however his effort hit the post and Leeds were knocked out.
Brilliant game, proud of all the lads, now let's go smash Swansea ???? ????
