Plenty of Leeds United are now starting to feel the nerves of their promotion after figures were revealed as to how many points Marcelo Bielsa’s side need to mathematically secure it.

LUFCDATA shared on Twitter (via @LUFCDATA) that the Whites need just 10 points from their final five games to return to England’s top-flight for the first time since 2004, on the basis that Brentford win all of their next five games.

Leeds extended their lead at the top of the Championship by four points before West Bromwich Albion took on Hull City, and six points clear of Thomas Frank’s side in third place.

Will Leeds be playing Premier League football next season?

Last season saw the North Yorkshire knocked out at the semi-final stage of the Playoffs to Derby County and were beaten by Watford 3-0 in the final in 2006. This looks to be the best opportunity yet for Leeds.

Unsurprisingly, supporters were excited and nervous about the prospect of promotion and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said begged that the club can finally reach the promised land after all this time, while another added that he is “feeling every emotion possible”.
