The Premier League is a potential destination for United with four games left to play, and with it, Victor Orta will likely have to strengthen the squad for Marcelo Bielsa to go to war with.
Whites supporters on Twitter, though, have been showing their opposition to one potential signing recently, after fan account Leeds Me raised the question: ‘Would you like to see Aaron Lennon make a return to the club before retirement?’
The experienced top-flight winger turned 32 on Tuesday, and has been linked by The Sun as a potential option in the summer, as Bielsa was said to be compiling background checks on players he could look to add.
That report was back in February, though, and nothing new has since emerged linking us to the Burnley star, who has not featured at Turf Moor since December 15 when he suffered a knee injury.
The blow is expected to keep Lennon out for the remainder of the season, so any move next term would see Orta add an ageing winger who is past his best, and severely lacking match fitness.
He also only managed one goal and three assists in his 36 games for the Clarets before suffering his potentially season-ending knee injury, to add to the £4.5million-rated attacker’s 15 goal contribution while at Everton, where he made 77 appearances.
Plenty of reasons, then, why these fans are right to oppose a move for the Whites academy graduate…
No. Milner, Delph, Taylor and Cook are the only three former players I’d be bothered about. For ability and sentiment. Then Snoddy at a push.

better options elsewhere when you look at what he would cost a year. Be better to spend £20m on another option who would only increase in value rather than decrease. Players who can generate a sizeable profit (both whilst at the club and when they leave) should be the target
