The Easter weekend could be make or break for our chances of securing automatic promotion, but also Sheffield United’s, and a load of Leeds fans have been reacting on social media to comments made by Blades boss Chris Wilder.
The topic, which has caught the eye of a lot of supporters, is Wilder’s take on the gap his side currently face to the Whites, and his approach to it.
Going into Good Friday, Sheffield United face a three-point deficit to us, and know that anything but a win against Nottingham Forest could almost seal their fate as a Play-Off side, with us squaring up to the relegation-threatened Wigan later in the day.
We could then maximise a potential six-point lead over the Blades on Easter Monday, when we again play second, but this time against Brentford, while Sheffield United travel to Hull, who still hold an outside shot at the Play-Offs.
But as Wilder noted, ‘one big win can change everything’.
“The last time I looked it was only three points,” Wilder said, as quoted by The Yorkshire Post’s Richard Sutcliffe. “The school I went to was quite a decent one, so we are still in with a shout. One big win can change everything.
“Anyone who has two-points a game or better come the end of the season, they deserve to get out of the division. If the teams above us do that, they will deserve it. I’ve always said that.”
And when Sutcliffe posted the quotes to Twitter, this is what some of the Leeds fans replying made of it…

Well he’s not wrong. When everything can change in one round of matches it’s probably best not to be too cocky,

Also better to be chasing Norwich than looking over their shoulder.

id rather have forest and hull than wigan and brentford tbh. this is far from over. theres a reason to be excited but most leeds fans are thinking blunts will roll over the next 2 games. not happening

I like wilder a lot, think hes an honest genuine guy, but he really does sound like hes feeling the pressure recently – hope that’s passing onto the players.
