|

Leeds United had been identified by the Daily Record as one of a small number of clubs monitoring Motherwell’s Jake Hastie, but The Scottish Sun are now reporting that Hull City have joined the race.

The original clutch of outfits interested in the 20-year-old winger included Norwich City, West Bromwich Albion and us, who all reportedly had scouts in attendance when the Well faced St Mirren and Hastie scored a spectacular goal.

The Motherwell academy graduate has since added another goal to his tally when he scored against Heart of Midlothian on Sunday, which was his fourth in three games.

Altogether, including while on loan with Alloa Athletic prior to New Years, the former Scotland U17 international has scored 13 and assisted a further 13, so it is no wonder that more clubs are showing an interest.

The Scottish Sun’s report states that Hull are now keeping a keen eye on developments north of the border, as Motherwell are still trying to convince their product to sign a new contract with them as his current deal ends in the summer.

Hastie and Well’s boss Stephen Robinson have both said that they would like to make an arrangement before the season ends, but the wonderkid has not yet put pen to paper on the three-year deal offered.
