Leeds United coach Glynn Snodin believes the squad can get Leeds through the hectic festive period.

Leeds play four games in ten days including tough looking away games at Leicester and Cardiff City and Snodin believes that those who have been stuck on the bench can come in and take their chance if needed.

Speaking on TalkSport Radio on Wednesday evening, Snodin said, “We`ve got a great squad and everyone is just about fit again, you look at our bench and you think what a great bench we`ve got.
“Touchwood, lets hope we can keep everyone fit over the four games, because the squad will be needed, it is a difficult period and we will use the squad.
“It is frustrating for some of them that they`ve not been playing, the run we`ve been on, the ones that have come in have grabbed the shirt and took it and they don`t want to let go. It is important that we do have good players that are sat on the bench and can come in and do a good job.”

Leigh Bromby is a prime example of a player who has had to sit and watch from the stands most weeks this season but took his chance on Saturday when called up.

Bromby replaced Alex Bruce in the centre of defence after only ten minutes when Bruce went off injured and Bromby put in sublime performance alongside Neil Collins and helped the side to only their second home clean sheet of the season.

Snodin says the management and players take as much delight from keeping clean sheets as they do scoring, “Don`t get me wrong, we still love clean sheets as well and we are trying to keep clean sheets and keep working on it in training and every week in games,” he continued

Leeds have been involved in the most goals in the Championship this season with a total of 74 goals coming from their 22 games.

Snodin is delighted with the side`s ability to score goals from all over the pitch this season and says it has helped after the loss of leading goalscorer Jermaine Beckford in the summer.
“We have got players that can score goals and we`ve had goals come this season from everywhere. The wide men have come in with goals and Johnny Howson who is playing a different role this year.
Luciano Becchio, Snodgrass and Gradel, there all chipping in, Bradley Johnson is another one and there all scoring six, seven, eight goals which is great because we lost Jermaine Beckford who got us thirty plus goals for two years,” Snodin continued.

Leeds starts their festive programme on Boxing Day away at Leicester City, a side that as already beaten Leeds twice this season.

They then entertain Portsmouth and Middlesbrough, before finishing the busy period with an away game at Cardiff City.

Cardiff were in fact the last side to inflict a defeat on Leeds back in October when they cantered to an easy 4-0 win and Leeds looked a long way from a side challenging for promotion.
